The School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering of the Technical University of Crete organizes and implements the MSc Sustainable Engineering and Climate Change, which is the only one of its kind in the country, oriented to contemporary trends and requirements, thus enhancing its academic profile. In addition, the School is committed to developing a creative research and working environment for all its staff, teaching, research and administrative, as well as a creative academic environment for its students. The MSc offers a comprehensive programme of training and specialisation in the basic principles and methods in Environmental Technologies. The combination of experience, expertise and scientific training in the field of environment, engineering and energy contribute to fill the gap that currently exists at the postgraduate level in this context.

The MSc serves to develop specialised knowledge and training in issues of spatial, energy and technological management and utilisation of environmental structures. It also highlights and supports the parameter of sustainability of technological, operational and business options in the above areas. Finally, it exploits and exploits complementary know-how, expertise and infrastructure and human resources of a widely recognised provider of higher academic education in subjects relevant to the scope of the programme.

The MSc is addressed to a wide range of graduates of higher education in our country from national higher education institutions of science and technology, environmental sciences, medical and biological sciences, engineering sciences and related subjects or similar recognised institutions abroad, as well as holders of equivalent degrees, such as graduates of the Greek Higher Military Educational Institutions (HEI). 

It is also addressed to Erasmus+ students, Special Education Staff (SEP) teachers and research staff of the following categories:
- Laboratory Teaching Staff (LTS)
- Specialized Technical Laboratory Staff (STLS)

Its main objectives are:

• The provision of high level postgraduate education to graduates of higher education of our Country, as well as corresponding and equivalent Institutions abroad, with the aim of understanding and deepening of the basic principles and methods in Environmental Sciences and Technological Applications.
• Strengthening research in the field in question by including the graduates of the program in the national and the international research web.
• The scientific/technological training and specialization of the graduates with the aim of their employment in development companies and environmental risk management services.
• The preparation for postgraduate studies at doctoral level.
• The development of innovation in the scientific areas: Sustainable Water and Liquid Management Waste and Sustainable Energy.
• The development of long-term international collaborations at a scientific and business level.
• The promotion of Greece abroad as a country of production and export of technology, know-how and products with high added value.

Final target through the above objectives is on the one hand training and preparation specialized and capable scientists, researchers and professionals who will promote the general economic development of the country, but also the strengthening of the close cooperation between the academic community, public organizations and businesses for the acceptance, use and dissemination of objects of the Postgraduate Programme.

The graduates of P.M.S. acquire the qualifications, knowledge, abilities and skills to study and solve critical national and global environmental problems and contribute to action of the United Nations to highlight the emerging movement of NatureBased Solutions, Green Infrastructure and the wider ecological sector
(Ecological Engineering) in the context of a sustainable and circular economy. Object of the MSc is to train scientists engineers with high qualifications, skills and
background to serve the country's modern scientific research and production process in matters related to the objects of Environmental Engineering. Postgraduate studies in The school seeks to create well-qualified and specialized engineers, who will have capacity for interdisciplinary collaboration and will have understood their responsibility towards society and they will be able to respond to modern global challenges.

The ChEnvEng School is committed to the implementation of the quality policy, which strengthens it academic profile and the orientation of postgraduate study programs, promotes their purpose and object, implements their strategic goals (as set by year) and determines the means, actions and ways of achieving them, ensures participation of interested parties and implements appropriate internal and external procedures quality with the ultimate aim of their continuous improvement. In addition to the above, the School is committed to fostering a climate of communication and cooperation between all members (staff, students and stakeholders) of the School.

The ChEnvEng School and the Master's Program "MSc Sustainable Engineering and Climate Change" apply the statutory quality assurance procedures from within
quality assurance system of the Technical University of Crete, with the case-by-case required specialization at the Master's Program level. The implementation of its procedures ESDP are carried out in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) of Polytechnic. The quality assurance procedures are a valuable tool for the School and the Master's Program, in order to implement his teaching and research activities, to ensure the achievement of the goals it has set and to generally upgrade it academic work.

The ChEnvEng School and the Master's Program "MSc Sustainable Engineering and Climate Change", for the implementation of the policy they are committed to implement the procedures quality that will demonstrate:
• the appropriateness of the structure and organization of the Master's Program
• that the intended learning outcomes and qualifications are in accordance with the European and the National Framework for Higher Education Qualifications
• the promotion of the quality and effectiveness of teaching/research (The MSc decides whether the research work is worth keeping in the text and deletes/retains
respectively) project of the Postgraduate Studies Program
• the suitability of the qualifications of the teaching staff for the Master's Programme Studies
• the drafting, implementation and review of specific annual quality objectives for its improvement Graduate Program
• the level of demand for the acquired qualifications of the graduates in the labor market
• the quality of support services
• the efficient utilization of the resources of the Postgraduate Studies Program, which possibly coming from tuition fees
• conducting the annual internal assessment and review of the assurance system quality for the Master's Program "MSc Sustainable Engineering and Climate Change", with the collaboration of OMEA and MODIP of the Technical University of Crete.

The procedures implemented to monitor and continuously improve the quality of Master's Degree Programs, are analyzed as follows:
• Implementation of a policy to ensure the quality of the Postgraduate Studies Program, periodically review and revise it (when required).
• Planning of the Postgraduate Studies Program, in accordance with the current Legislation and the Regulations of the Technical University of Crete, taking into account - as far as possible - the opinions students, graduates of the School and the PMS, and cooperating bodies.
• Harmonization with the current legislative framework and regulations.
• Application of the Regulations of the Master's Program and other Regulations and of Regulatory Decisions of the Technical University of Crete.
• Submission of a course description to the MODIP information system by the lecturers.
• Evaluation of courses and teachers by the students.
• Different ways of evaluating students.
• Attempt to monitor the development and professional rehabilitation of its graduates​​​​​​
• Teaching staff (selection, regulations, performance, support).
• Allocation and management of the Master's Program resources (infrastructure, equipment etc.).
• Collection and processing/analysis of quality data (complete, correct and up-to-date data) to ensure the quality of the Master's Program with the aim of
improvement of this.
• Monitoring, analysis and comparison with national and international indicators.
• Posting information about the Graduate Program.
• Quality and systematic updating of the Master's Program website (Greek, English and possibly another language), for the publication of the relevant
Program information.
• Strategy and targeting feedback mechanisms, etc., overview, taking actions and corrective actions (when required).
• Conducting annual internal evaluation (monitoring, control and review of Master's Program), in accordance with all the aforementioned, based on
directives of ETHAAE and MODIP.
• Support of external evaluation and certification procedures, in collaboration with MODIP.
